Have you ever wondered why?
Isn't it amazing, how you can spend pounds and pounds on the latest digital toys that speak 4 different languages play classical music, with jingly bits and crunchy bits and colours that are scientifically proven to stimulate both sides of the brain to enhance learning, they count forwards and backwards, do long division and differentiation, they've got touch feely bits, plastic bits to soothe your gums on i've seen toys that do sommersaults and yet, still, my child (and probably everyone else's) would rather sit in a cardboard box for half an hour!

It's true, there are few things as fun in life as a cardboard box. It's just too bad so many of them are too small for grownups to play in. I remember when the ward bought a new TV (maybe 15 years ago), Dad brought the box over to the house (this was one massive cardboard box) and it provided endless hours of amusement in various activities, the favourite being repeatedly zooming down the stairs in it with a friend (with pillows, beanbag and quilt in front to cushion the landing). Great fun it was! :-)

I'm still waiting for a cardboard box for Rhiannon. We had loads in the garage but when I came to test the theory Jut had just taken themm all to the dump. When took Rhiannon to nursery today they had just had a delivery and there was an exciting cardboard box that I thought might be of entertainment value. But unfortunately health and safety prohibited small children clambering all over the box. Spoil sports!

I know, I know! We've just put up a wigwam, tent and tunnel set in the garden for Sam and he is scooting all the way around it in his trusty truck, but is not remotely bothered about going inside!!!
